It works pretty much like normal karaoke except with a live band instead of the old fashioned bouncing-ball video and CD backing track. The band will welcome you to the stage with a friendly smile and give you lyric sheet to keep you on the straight and narrow. Don't worry if you're not sure about when to come in, a member of the band will be there to give you the nod when it's time to start wailing. Whether you choose to take the cue or not is entirely up to you! Choosing a song that you know fairly well will help but there's no pressure to be perfect... it is, after all, karaoke!
Once you've booked the Karaoke Criminals there isn't much left to think about except what song you're going to be belting out with the band on stage! Each person who gets up to sing is different: sometimes they are the best thing since sliced bread and sometimes they leave a little to be desired... like 'normal' karaoke it doesn't matter either way and anyone can get up and be throroughly entertaining or just indulge themselves with the rare opportunity to sing with a live band of world class musicians. The band will arrive ready to play over a hundred songs and will provide lyric sheets to those brave enough to take to the stage. If you go to our song list page you can see what tracks the band are currently able to perform. For best results get the people attending your event/night to submit their prefered selection via our website by cicking on the sign up to sing link. By doing this the band can arrive with everything organized in terms of lyric sheets, set order etc and making sure the musicians are aware of your selections in advance is a good way of enhancing the experience for everyone. If you want to wing it on the night that's fine too and often produces great results with the adrenaline pumping and the mystery of what's going to happen next filling the air! There are over a hundred songs to choose from if you think you'd prefer to do it that way... fine by us!
